Katarina joined Propeller in 2016 and has more than 15 years of experience in finance, accounting, and business development. She is a leader in Propeller’s beauty and personal care space and has successfully helped raise over $40M for her clients in this industry. Katarina approaches every engagement by building transparent, communicative relationships. Her first step is to understand the client’s long term business goals and from there strategically works backwards to create an action plan. As a founder herself, Katarina applies this framework to her own business.
Katarina started her career in Prague, Czech Republic where she joined the local KPMG team and eventually transferred to KPMG NYC. After four years in public accounting, she transitioned into the start-up world and joined bio-pharma gene synthesis Codon Devices as a Controller. She became part of the senior management team as an Interim CFO and was in charge of accounting, FP&A, corporate development, and equity capital raising. She later served as a Controller at Yodle, an online marketing company that had been acquired in 2016 by Web.com. In 2014, she joined StyleHaul, a multi-channel YouTube network, where she managed the due diligence process that led to a successful acquisition of the company by global conglomerate Bertelsmann Media Group. As VP of Finance and Sales Operations, she streamlined strategic sales initiatives and branded content partnerships across the U.S. and top international markets in the UK, Singapore, and Brazil.
Katarina completed her Masters in Finance at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. She is actively involved in the beauty community and is a member of Beauty Independent, Cosmetic Executive Women, and Empowering Through Beauty. She is also a board member of several non-profit organizations with focus on youth art education.
Katarina speaks six languages, is a proud owner of two rescued dogs, is an avid latin dancer, can’t cook to save her life, and is a licensed private pilot.
