Carol Barfield Director, People Team
Carol is an accomplished, results-driven Human Resources professional with experience working in multi-location environments for both large and small organizations in various industries. Having built an HR department from scratch, wrote the business proposal for a small start-up family business and everything else in between. She has experience in creating and implementing programs designed to improve business operations while maintaining a focus on Employee Service and Engagement.
Prior to arriving at Propeller, Carol served as Manager, Staff Administration supporting a client base at Yale University’s School of Medicine. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven with a focus on Criminal Justice. Ultimately not pursuing a career in the law, she haphazardly fell into an HR role at Arthur Anderson and has never looked back.
Carol has been establishing herself as a trusted HR Advisor by building her expertise at both the Strategic and Tactical levels of Employee Engagement and experience. She hopes to expand upon her professional growth and ability as she pursues her Master’s in Human Resources next Spring 2022 at the University of New Haven. The overall theme throughout her tenure as an HR professional has been customer service – to her clients, to her team, and to the organization. She attributes her success to several attributes: Empathetic, Good Listener, Positive Attitude, Creativity, and Sense of humor.
Carol was born and raised in CT and currently resides in Madison where she recently bought a home. Her interests mostly revolve around spending time with family and friends, and enjoys food, wine, being active, and working on the never-ending to-do list of home improvements.
