Vice President of Finance

Dan first joined Propeller Industries in 2016 and has over a decade’s experience in Financial Planning & Analysis. During his tenure at Propeller, he has developed expertise in the consumer goods and e-commerce industries. Dan has been instrumental in guiding clients through financial strategy, fundraising, and acquisitions, enabling them to achieve their desired outcomes.

Dan has an impressive background in finance, having been the VP of Finance for Hoplark, a startup that specializes in non-alcoholic beverages made with hops. During his tenure at Hoplark, Dan oversaw a range of financial activities, including managing the company budget and forecast process, conducting monthly financial reviews, creating and analyzing KPIs, handling pricing changes, and overseeing channel and product P&Ls, as well as the treasury function. His most notable achievement during his time at Hoplark was guiding the company through a strategic restructure, which led to significant contribution margin improvements and a halving of EBITDA losses. Prior to Hoplark, Dan managed the manufacturing P&L for a Fortune 500 company, created the FP&A function at a multi-million-dollar metal fabricator, and managed the accounting function for a multi-billion-dollar investment advisor, where he implemented a new GL system and established all accounting policies and controls.

Dan holds an MBA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, specializing in Entrepreneurship & Accounting. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Additionally, Dan served in the US Army Reserve and achieved the rank of Major.

Dan resides in Austin, TX with his wife and their canine companion(s). Their passion for exploring the world has them embarking on travel adventures as often as possible. However, during their weekends in town, Dan can be found hiking the nearby trails, navigating winding hilly roads on his motorcycle, indulging in a dip in the cold springs, and savoring the latest culinary offerings in the area.
