Ramya Varma Director of Finance
Ramya is a seasoned finance professional focused on advising SaaS and technology companies on strategic, operational, and capital raising decisions. Ramya joins the Propeller team with over a decade of experience investing in technology businesses at all stages and levels of the capital stack, including venture capital, growth equity, leveraged buyouts, and credit.
Ramya began her career at Seaport Capital, a top-quartile-performing, New York-based private equity fund, where she invested in and advised portfolio companies in the cloud services, software, and tech-enabled business services industries. Subsequently, she transitioned to an investment role at Advantage Capital, the largest CDFI impact investment fund in the US, where she focused on venture and credit investments in early-stage software, CPG, and industrial companies. Most recently, she served on the investment team at SNH Capital, an Austin-based private equity fund with a 25-year history of operational value creation. Across these roles, Ramya has managed over $1 billion in fund capital and served as a board director or observer at over 15 portfolio companies.
Ramya holds a BS in Finance from NYU’s Stern School of Business and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. During her off hours, Ramya spends her time experimenting with new recipes, improving her tennis game, and playing the drums in a variety of jam bands.
