Zi Lin Senior FP&A Analyst
Zi is originally from China and traveled to Spain with her parents when she was 13 years old. She speaks fluent Chinese, Spanish, and English, and also learned a little French in college.
She spent 10 years in Barcelona starting with her second year of secondary school and ended up with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from ESADE, a top business school in Europe. After she received her bachelor’s degree, she decided to pursue a master’s degree at Pace University in New York. She has also served as an interpreter (Chinese – English and Chinese – Spanish) in several business occasions.
Before Zi graduated from Pace University, she received an internship opportunity at Temple Turmeric and turned full time after 6 months. She worked closely with the CEO and CFO in handling all the accounting and finance tasks including AR and AP, bank reconciliations, trade spend analysis, and inventory management. She realized that she is good at analyzing numbers which helped her improve a lot of her excel skills. Also, she had the opportunity to participate in the inventory management process (setting up BOMS, creating fulfillment process, etc.) which added a lot of value to her career. She likes to keep things organized and make them follow a process. After 2 years at Temple, she decided to make a move. She started working at a retail clothing company, Ashley Stewart, as a FP&A analyst. This role provided her more opportunity to improve her excel skills which she uses for budgeting and forecasting.
After her first years working as an accountant and financial analyst, Zi discovered her passion in the food and beverage world. She enjoys inventory and excel, as well as managing AR and AP processes and thinking constantly about how to improve them.
In her free time, she enjoys playing and watching sports, outdoor activities, and board games. Her favorite game is “The Settlers of Catan.” She also loves painting and make-up, and wanted to become a make up artist since a very young age. She served as a make up artist at Pace University for the Chinese Union New Year Gala and designed makeup for more than 10 people (men and women).
