Sam Madden joins Propeller with over 15 years of experience in finance, investing, and entrepreneurship and has a wealth of B2B SaaS industry knowledge. From starting his career on Wall Street to being a co-founder of a SaaS startup, Sam uses his experience to help achieve his client’s financial and strategic goals. He enjoys diving deep into businesses and forming relationships with founders to strategize and formulate FP&A, fundraising, and growth guidance.
Sam began his career on Wall Street at Credit Suisse in the bank’s Global Industrials Services group. During his time in investment banking, he advised corporate clients on over $2B worth of M&A, LBO, and financing transactions.
After banking, Sam moved into investment management as a portfolio manager where he focused his time investing in high yield/distressed debt (Highlight Capital) and public equities (MVR Capital). During his time on the buyside, Sam researched and invested in public and private companies within a variety of industries including media, telecom, paper/packaging, travel, technology, and natural resources.
Then in 2013, Sam made the entrepreneurial leap and became the co-founder of PocketSuite, a mobile SaaS and payments startup serving small service businesses. There, he led all things growth, operations, and finance related, helped grow the company from zero to thousands of paying customers, and raised venture capital from Y Combinator and other institutional and angel investors.
Sam graduated from Colgate University with a BA in French and Political Science, and is a CFA charterholder.
